Job Description
This role offers hybrid working conditions but is not fully remote. Please only apply if you can travel to downtown Boston three (3) days/week.
Are you looking for a new challenge within today’s rapidly evolving media landscape - to grow faster, learn more and be seen and heard as a valuable team member? Do you jump at the chance to explore unknown territory & create novel solutions to brand challenges? Do you want to work for an agency leading the way, with new approaches to media planning and buying, grounded with data and analytics, that are helping our clients with a blueprint on how to succeed and grow? Then we’re looking for you to join our growing Media team!
At Allen & Gerritsen, we do media differently. We are fascinated by audiences & how they engage with the world around them. We think analytically, insisting we understand our intended outcomes first & then creating a plan that can achieve them. Our team comes from a variety of agency backgrounds, but we’re all here at A&G because of the people-first culture & the consistent opportunities to make your mark and produce great work.
Of course we navigate all of the traditional elements of media planning: reach and frequency, targeting efficiency, value, and so on. What differentiates this team is our deeper understanding of our audiences' emotional relationships with their media environments, and how those can affect the impact of a message delivered there, for better or worse. We call it Humanity Planning, and it helps us craft better, smarter, and more effective integrated media plans for our clients.
This role offers you a chance to grow your existing skills but continue to learn within a fully integrated agency, all with a unique approach to planning. Your ideas will be valued, and encouraged. You’ll be an integral part of an amazingly talented team, not someone siloed into one responsibility every day. From social media and search, to TV and out-of-home, to unique content partnerships and beyond. We’re a full-service, independent ad agency, so expect ample exposure to other key disciplines such as creative, analytics, public relations, & brand strategy.
Main Responsibilities:
Understand & deliver creative cross-channel paid media solutions that achieve client’s goals & objectives
Lead the construction of media plan development & client presentations
Creation of audience insights and strategic narrative
Supervising RFP checklist and brief development, partner selection, distribution & evaluation within an agreed time frame

Be the final eyes and check on key media buying documents such as authorizations, orders, and traffic. sheets, & flowcharts
Set expectations on timing for all deliverables & present completed work to the manager for final review and discussion unless formally directed to deliver directly
Act as a primary media point of contact for clients and liaison for internal department communication, ensuring timely and thoughtful responses
Research, analyze, & pull insights about audience behavior, including media consumption habits & preferences
Keep key partner departments such as analytics and strategy informed and integrated where needed
Remain accountable for adherence to both timelines and work quality and consistency
Work closely with publishers & media partners to negotiate media buys & stay up to date on product updates & offerings
Confidently navigate task process flow for self and the team
Work with more junior team members and interns to help develop skill sets & foster team growth and development
Oversee flawless campaign trafficking, tagging & billing
Monitor & report on media performance across social, search, video, display, etc. to identify errors and key optimizations, working closely with Analytics and Strategy where relevant
Coach junior members of the team on how to research, analyze, & report on competitor media spending & creative, giving final perspectives and inputs
Provide feedback and teaching to the junior team on deliverables and work performance
Position Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Advertising, Marketing, Communication, Media, or equivalent relevant experience
6+ years of media planning & buying experience in an agency, publisher, or brand setting
Strong math skills
Attention to detail, organization, effective time management, & the ability to prioritize workload with minimal supervision
