Azure Cloud Security Engineer

Duration: 12+ months

Location: Remote

Rate:$25-30/hr on W2

Reporting to: Services & Engineering Director



Description
We're looking for passionate Cloud and Security Engineer to help us deliver and run a suite of new technology solutions for the entire company. The Cloud Security Engineer role is accountable for delivering a variety of technical products, and usually works as part of the SRE/DevOps Team alongside other engineers and architects.
The Cloud and Security Engineer will be part of the team that is responsible for the development and support of the Elanco's Hybrid Cloud Platform. SRE/DevOps Team works closely with the Technical Service Owners and Operations Team to constantly raise the reliability bar for our services and provide guidance for the adoption of modern technologies in all stages of the service development life cycle.





Responsibilities:

• Leading role in building solutions to improve our infrastructure operations, enabling us to run a lean organisation and automate as much as possible.
• Designing and implementing new solutions to complex problems.
• Executing defined work packages.
• Writing to ensure our solutions are well documented and simple to understand.
• Running handover activities with Operations teams.
• Building enhancements and fixes where necessary.
• Strong understanding of security reviews, reports and audits
• Strong experience with implementing and maturing Azure Cloud security controls and procedures
• Understanding of modern security architectures, e.g. micro-segmentation, application identity
• Knowledge of secure practices and understand how to embed security controls and processes in the CI/CD pipeline
• Crucial role in implementing security into automation solutions to improve our infrastructure operations safety
• Evangelize a security mindset with our SRE/DevOps team
• Proactively research new and emerging technologies and approaches to enhance the security posture of Elanco.
• Executing defined work packages.
• Writing to ensure our solutions are well documented and simple to understand.
• Running deep dive initiatives to help overcome major incidents, complex problems and/or realise opportunities.
• Actively building and staying abreast of emerging technologies, guiding teams on how to interpret and best leverage the emerging technologies.
• Engaging in the community (internally and externally) across multiple channels, looking to share, educate and inspire.

Logistics


The first stage is the application. After this, successful candidates will be invited to a 30min interview over web conference. Successful candidates from the first interview, will be invited to a 1-hour interview over web conference with 2 different individuals.



Core Skills

• At least 4 years' experience in cloud administration and/or information security
• Strong experience in building and optimizing CI/CD Pipelines
• Practical knowledge of packaging and deploying applications
• Experience with Microsoft Azure Cloud
• Strong understanding of security reviews, reports and audits
• Strong experience with implementing and maturing Azure Cloud security controls and procedures
• Strong experience with git (e.g. using tools such as GitHub)
• Kubernetes container-orchestration
• Terraform
• Experience with public cloud platforms (e.g. PaaS, IaaS, FaaS)
• Experience in DevOps lifecycle processes and supporting tools
• Experience working in an Agile team
• Experience working as a Scrum Master
• Strong communication skills with multiple examples of being able to convey complex ideas in a manner that resulted in a definitive direction and result
• Understanding of modern security architectures, e.g. micro-segmentation, application identity
• Knowledge of secure practices and understand how to embed security controls and processes in the CI/CD pipeline

Nice to Have Skills

• Experience with implementing and maturing Google Cloud security controls and procedures
• Experience in designing and building technical solutions
• Experience within an infrastructure operations environment
• Strong scripting capabilities (PowerShell, Python, Bash)
• Experience with Ansible automation
• Experience with virtualization solutions (VMWare)
