JOB DETAILS
- Expert in developing and creating overall design concepts and formulating design presentation strategies utilizing workplace trends.
- Complete commercial furniture projects of any size or complexity start to finish partnering with an Account Manager
- Evaluate client needs and determine scope of services required through meetings with the Account Manager and potentially the client.
- Determine proper product application then generate furniture layouts, typical, and budget estimates based on client needs.
- Prepare drawings, renderings, and select color, materials, and finishes for projects.
- Confidently present innovative design solutions to Account Managers and clients.
- Conduct detailed inventories and accurate field measures.
- Produce complete, accurate specifications and drawings using current software, planning guides, standards, and HB procedures.
- Finalize and generate all necessary drawings and project documents required for installation.
- In partnership with our sales team, take ownership of the success of your projects.
- Collaborate/partner with sales, project management and install teams to effectively complete the cycle of service.
- Strong mentoring skills and ability to lead, train and direct the work of others.
- Participate with DEI activities, vendor presentations, IIDA events, design meetings.
- Stay current with industry and manufacturer standards and updates.
- Attend One-on-One sessions with Design Leadership and bring questions, career development or HR concerns.
- Maintain a low history of errors and spec accuracy in addition to completing Key Performance Indicators and participate in a yearly performance review.
- Dealer Certification requirements as assigned.
- Work to hone skills for further career opportunities.
- Perform other duties or special projects as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Required:
- Professional experience and a degree in interior design or related field; or equivalent combination of education and industry experience including a proven record of leading projects. Present project portfolio with resume to show depth and breadth of design capabilities.
- 5 years of Commercial Furniture Dealership Experience
- Demonstrated skill using 2D/3D software, AutoCAD, CET Designer and Microsoft Suite. Possess a high level of graphic presentation skills.
- Understanding of building systems, building codes, electrical, cabling and meeting ADA compliance with furniture.
- Mastery in navigating and curating solutions from an expansive product portfolio, including furniture systems, ancillary, accessories, and bespoke.
- Innovative Problem-Solver: Able to address unique challenges in workplace design and find creative solutions that align with the company's vision.
- Detail Oriented: Capable of organizing large amounts of information. Enjoys working with spreadsheets, specifications, and specific project details.
- Organized: Strong ability to maintain a schedule, meet project deadlines, effectively manage project work and task lists.
- Team Player: Work well as a member of a group, understand your role, welcome collaboration, hold yourself accountable, accept feedback gracefully, maintain flexibility, uphold a positive attitude, and commit to the team.

- Communication Skills: Strong communicator and able to articulate design concepts to clients. Experience in maintaining and growing client relationships.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- While performing job duties, must regularly speak with others and listen. Frequently required to sit. Uses hands, for example at a computer keyboard. Occasionally required to stand. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Must be able to have specific vision capabilities such as close vision, color vision, perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Some travel for project work or training is required.
