The Role: Lateral Associate - IP Litigation | Palo Alto, CA We are seeking an experienced and driven Lateral Associate specializing in IP Litigation to join a premier team in Palo Alto, CA. This role offers the chance to work on innovative and high-impact intellectual property cases. Your expertise will help shape the future of intellectual property law and contribute to groundbreaking legal solutions. In this position, you will: Represent clients in complex intellectual property and patent litigation matters. Develop effective and creative legal strategies tailored to client needs. Draft motions, briefs, and other litigation-related documentation of the highest quality. Handle PTAB disputes and assist with trial and appellate preparations. Collaborate with a skilled team to address challenging and cutting-edge legal issues. Ideal Candidate Profile We are looking for candidates who bring the following qualifications and attributes: Experience and Expertise Graduation Timeline: Law school graduate from 2018-2021 with proven experience in IP or patent litigation. Technical Expertise: Experience handling cases involving software, semiconductors, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, or medical devices is highly preferred. Educational Credentials Juris Doctor (JD) degree from a top-tier, accredited law school with outstanding academic performance. Undergraduate degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, biomedical engineering, or a related technical field is strongly preferred. Core Competencies Legal Acumen: Strong skills in legal research, drafting, analytical reasoning, and persuasive communication. Strategic Thinking: Demonstrated ability to craft and implement innovative strategies. Collaboration and Leadership: Proven capacity to work in cross-functional teams and mentor junior attorneys. Client Focus: Commitment to providing outstanding service and tailored solutions for sophisticated clients. Additional Attributes Experience with Federal Circuit appellate practice, PTAB disputes, or U.S. Court of Appeals clerkships is highly advantageous. Admission to the California Bar or eligibility to waive into California is required. Exceptional attention to detail and a proactive approach to solving legal challenges. Why Consider This Role?
