MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Associate's degree or sixty semester hours from a college
or university accredited by an organization recognized by
the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) or by
the United States Department of Education (USDE). Major course
work in Communications, English, Spanish, or a related field
preferred. Each year of experience as described below may be substituted
for thirty semester hours from an accredited college or university on
a year-for-year basis.
2. Criminal justice administration, correctional unit operations, ombudsman,
technical writing, or investigation experience preferred.
**This is a Career Ladder position.**
**The salary for an ERS Retiree (or non-contributing member) will
be $3675.93.**
The following Military Occupational Specialty codes are generally
applicable to this position. Applicants must fully complete the
summary of experience to determine if minimum qualifications are met.

Skill to write, interpret, and translate Spanish to English
and English to Spanish preferred.
This vacancy is a position within the Office of the Independent Ombudsman
which is governed by and reports directly to the Texas Board of
Criminal Justice.
