You Owe It to Yourself to Experience why JCI keeps being voted the Best Place to Work! Performs assigned system commissioning using Johnson Controls configuration and commissioning tools. Troubleshoots and resolves basic HVAC mechanical, electrical, and controls issues.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES: - Loads system-level controller software.
- Performs basic commissioning and system diagnostics from system-level controllers to end devices (e.g., sensors, actuators, etc.) and completes all required commissioning documentation.
- Keeps management and JCI contractor or customer informed of job progress and issues.
- Calibrates systems requiring basic electronic test equipment.
- Completes administrative tasks including but not limited to time sheets, expense reports, and on-site documentation.
- Documents changes and provides information for as-built documentation.
- Communicates with the JCI contractor or customer upon arrival and before leaving the work site.
- Follows all safety standards and attends required safety training. High degree of regard to employee and subcontractor safety.
REQUIREMENTS: - Applicants shall have 1200 hours of instruction and can meet the essential entry-level skills and knowledge required of an HVAC technician.
- Applicants shall be proficient with test equipment and software tools related to commissioning of controls systems.
- Basic understanding of electrical circuitry as they pertain to HVAC controls and their operation.
- Applicants will need to be able to travel.
The Johnson Controls field organization is arranged into local markets and areas: - The local market is the key to serving customers across the Building Solutions North America HVAC portfolio. It provides controls installation, mechanical installation, truck-based service teams, security & fire and HVAC equipment support.
- The area aids and provides guidance to the local market organization.
- Above the area support is provided for execution of major projects, large mechanical retrofit and Performance Infrastructure projects.
- This role is specific to large complex global customers that require a high degree of technical expertise, the ability to travel, an appreciation for process during the commissioning of a project as well as the ability to have an owner's mindset when it comes to the quality of work.
- In addition, this role requires a sense of ownership and pride in supporting these large complex customers.
