As the production planner, you will play a pivotal role in planning products designated for use in manufacturing replenishment and new product launches. You will be responsible for analyzing inventory to ensure consistency with production plans and company inventory policies while interfacing with Finance to report financial impact. In this role, you will work closely with buyers, procurement, manufacturing, and other internal teams to resolve technical issues and ensure a smooth product supply.
The Opportunity Key Responsibilities Plan material requirements to support the production plan while minimizing inventory levels and scrap.
Plan, schedule, and manage inventory to ensure supply levels meet required parameters, achieve on-time-infull (OTIF) goals, and maintain a smooth product supply chain.
Create and align the production plan with Global Planning based on the global forecast.
Ensure alignment of the production plan with the manufacturing shop floor, considering production capacities and material availability.
Schedule work orders based on changing requirements and material availability.
Maintain production and material planning parameters in the enterprise resource planning (ERP) software system (e.g., safety stock buffer, vendor-managed inventory (VMI) min-max levels, etc).
Facilitate phase-in/phase-out planning in case of material changes to prevent supply disruption.
Perform planning activities for new product launches.
Management of non-finished goods inventory, scrap risks, and other factors to achieve key performance indicator (KPI) targets.
Monitor database integrity by proactively auditing key planning parameters, identifying issues, and providing and implementing solutions.
Continuously improve processes and tools.
Participate in global, cross-departmental projects
Who You Are Required Qualifications & Experience Bachelor's Degree is preferred. Relevant experience will be considered in place of a degree for candidates who meet the key position qualifications.
5+ years of related experience in logistics, production planning, inventory control, or purchasing functions.
Previous experience with SAP ERP systems for planning, scheduling, and purchasing functions, in addition to a comprehensive understanding of the value and flow of inventory management.
Several years of experience in a Manufacturing Operations environment with global exposure, including communicating cross-functionally with diverse cultures or backgrounds.
Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, customer-focused approach, effective teamwork and collaboration skills, and excellent intercultural competencies.
Excellent communication skills, flexibility, detail orientation, and strong learning agility
Preferred Experience Previous experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
Strong proficiency in Excel or other spreadsheet programs creating complex formulas, pivot tables, vlookups, or macros.
