Today, Falcomm is actively developing new semiconductor technologies for customers to provide the most energy efficient power amplifier products in the world. Falcomm is seeking a highly motivated RF/mmWave test and characterization Engineer in Atlanta, GA. An ideal candidate is comfortable with a start-up environment to support progress towards developing new power amplifier technology, is able to learn quickly, is highly detail-oriented, takes pride in the quality of their work, and wants to make a real impact in the semiconductor industry. In this position, you will develop test methodologies, assist with procuring equipment, document test setups, test procedures, and calibration procedures while automating test procedures and data analysis with software tools. In addition, this position would require generating test reports and data summaries and maintaining a work-in-progress inventory.

RF/mmWave Test Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create and maintain the Falcomm RF test lab
  • Perform characterization of device performance
  • Design test fixtures and circuit boards
  • Analyze test data and prepare characterization report
  • Develop Test Data Processing Scripts
  • Validate Setups by Comparing setup performance to a standard
  • Maintain calibrated test stations (including backups) to minimize down time

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university
  • Demonstrated high level capability multi-tasking and time management
  • Ability to work independently, with others, and manage multiple projects at the same time
  • Strong written and verbal communication and organization skills, as well as attention to details
  • Passionate about technology and innovation

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • College degree in electrical engineering (BSEE or MSEE) or related field
  • 2+ years of experience in RF/mmWave test and characterization of compound semiconductors and/or silicon integrated circuits. Frequency ranges between 1 and 100 GHz are part of test portfolio
  • Understanding of RF theory and standard test practices.
  • Hands-on experience with operation and/or programming of on-wafer test equipment such as semiconductor analyzers, network analyzers, signal generators, power supplies, power meters, and spectrum analyzers.
  • Demonstrated ability to test and characterize
    • RF/mmWave Power Amplifiers based on CMOS, SOI, and compound semiconductor
    • RF/mmWave TX and RX integrated circuits
    • RF/mmWave TX and RX blocks
  • Understanding of calibration and measurement uncertainty
  • Experience with python programming and/or automation methods
  • Experience with statistical analysis methods
  • Experience with built-in self-test methods
  • Experience with transistor modeling is beneficial
