SEO Manager
Position Description:
The role of SEO Manager is responsible for all tactics and roles as they relate to improving clients search rankings. Demonstrating a solid understanding of the relationship between different digital marketing channels and SEO. Possess in-depth knowledge of keyword research, SEO copywriting, and the behaviors of search engines. Must possess the ability to work within a team and independently, be detail-oriented, creative, with excellent communication skills, critical and analytical thinking, problem-solving, prioritization, time management, ability to meet deadlines, self-motivated, and self-learning. Managing additional team members that relate to SEO and Content Marketing. Delegating monthly tasks to team members and third-party resources.
The SEO Manager is responsible for analyzing data to lead the overall strategy for content ideation and creation, as well as on- and off-site SEO for the roster of clients. The SEO Manager must oversee the auditing of clients websites to identify improvements of existing content, optimizations to improve rankings and performance, and the creation of new content based on each clients data, target audience, keyword research (when applicable), and business objectives. Attend individual monthly content and SEO strategy meetings to provide insights and collaborative efforts in crafting content topics and keyword targets, as well as on- and off-site strategies for improving SEO KPIs. The SEO Manager is responsible for overseeing the quarterly topic research and execution, as well as the SEO strategy and execution. This part of the role includes:
Understanding client persona and KPIs
Oversee keyword and the strategy research for quarterly Topic ideation which supports the quarterly goals of each client
Finding areas of opportunity via analytics, client recommendations and competitor audits
Oversee blog topic assignment to copywriting team, the receiving, reviewing, optimizing, and preparing of content for client approval
Responsible for the final review and scheduling of all content proofed, optimized and posted to the backend of client sites by the content team. Upon receiving notice from a team member, the SEO Manager will then go to those posts in the client site backend to give a final review for grammar, spelling, verbiage and optimization opportunities.
Oversee the execution of the SEO strategy through SEO team
Implement processes to ensure consistency in delivery of services
Ensure processes are being executed on a monthly basis by both the content and SEO team
Track and report on client goals and KPIs
Ensure quality of content, sentence structure, grammar, tone, readability, and SEO friendliness, as well as applying best practices for headers, keywords internal linking.
This role will require a keen understanding of behavioral analytics, as well as a familiarity with absorbing and translating data into a palatable strategy for the team. This position also requires the knowledge of Googles algorithmic evolutions as well as changing nature of social media platforms as they relate to SEO. Able to build analytical reports specifically for organic search. Set up and implement Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager and Google Search Console on the websites. Work closely with team members to help them use third-party tools for analysis and reporting.
The SEO Manager is responsible to set up all reporting capabilities and is tasked with weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly KPI reviews in primarily Google Analytics, Google Looker Studio or Google Search Console. The specific tasks of the Analytics Management role include the setup and testing of Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Google Search Console, Bing Webmaster Tools, Ahrefs, Google Looker Studio, and any additional reporting such as lead tracking sheets in Google Drive. In addition to the setup, custom requests may arise for clients that have added another KPI or would like to review a particular performance group of KPIs in which the Analytics Management role provides a report on the necessary data.
The SEO Manager is responsible for overseeing the email strategy and results.
The SEO Manager will work with the social media team to ensure a cohesive voice and brand messaging is in place for maximum results.
The SEO Manager may be tasked with editing, reviewing, and approving the social media final content calendar.
