Orange County Soccer Club is seeking an innovative, creative, and bold Social Media Manager to drive the club’s online presence and deepen connections with fans locally and globally. This individual will be responsible for developing and implementing a robust social media strategy, producing engaging content, and staying attuned to global football conversations while amplifying the club’s unique voice. The ideal candidate must be very passionate about soccer, understand the nuances of platform-specific content, and be not afraid to take risks to deliver standout moments for the Orange County SC community.

Roles & Responsibilities 

  • Develop and execute a forward-thinking social media plan that aligns with the club’s goals for fan engagement, ticket sales, and brand growth.
  • Plan, shoot, and post dynamic, original content from training sessions, matchdays, community events, and behind-the-scenes moments.
  • Lead real-time social media coverage for all  home and away matches , providing engaging updates, live content, and behind-the-scenes access that captures the energy and excitement of Orange County SC.
  • Capture the club’s tone of voice authentically while tailoring content for various platforms, including Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, YouTube, Facebook, and emerging platforms.
  • Stay ahead of global football trends and integrate timely and relevant topics into the club’s social presence.
  • Experiment with new content formats and creative ideas to engage and grow the club’s audience.
  • Collaborate with photographers, videographers, and creative teams to produce and share high-quality matchday visuals, including pre-match build-up, in-game moments, and post-match highlights.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of professional experience managing social media accounts, preferably in sports or entertainment.
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms, trends, and algorithms, with a track record of growing audiences and increasing engagement.
  • Proficiency in creating and editing photo, video, and graphic content using tools like Adobe Creative Suite or Canva.
  • Exceptional writing skills with an understanding of tone, voice, and storytelling.
  • Passion for soccer and awareness of the global football landscape, including leagues, players, and cultural trends.
  • Experience in managing real-time social coverage, particularly during live events.
