WORK SCHEDULE

  1. 100% FTE – 40 hours per week
  2. Day Shift – UW MEDICINE ITS SERVICES CORE HOURS ARE 07:00 – 16:00 (PST), Monday-Friday

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION

UW Medicine IT Services (ITS) is a shared services organization that supports all of UW Medicine. ITS is responsible for the ongoing support and maintenance of the infrastructure and applications which support all these institutions, along with the implementation of new services and applications that are used to support and further the UW Medicine mission.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Providing advanced level design, development, and testing of full-stack applications using automation technologies.
  2. Responsible for the entire lifecycle of software/application.
  3. Business process analysis, requirement gathering, technical specification/design, programming, testing, and production installation/configuration.
  4. System support, implementation, documentation, and maintenance of complex applications, infrastructure, vendor-packaged systems, and technical solutions for UW Medicine internal and external customers across many different functional areas.
  5. Evaluating and making recommendations concerning the third-party products.
  6. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize project requirements.
  7. Writing clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
  8. Participating in code reviews and contributing to the improvement of the codebase.
  9. Troubleshooting and debugging advanced level issues in development, testing, and production environments.
  10. Deploying serverless code to cloud services.
  11. Staying up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies in regard to AI and automation.

REQUIREMENTS

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent combination of education/experience.
  2. 5+ years of experience which should include:
  3. 5+ years of recent software engineering experience with a focus on automation and workflow improvement.
  4. 2+ years of professional IT architecture experience or equivalent.
  5. 2+ years of experience with ServiceNow or equivalent.
  6. 1+ years of experience with UiPath.
  7. 3+ years of experience with RPA.
  8. 5+ years hands-on experience with a combination of the following:
  • Visual Basics.NET
  • C/C++
  • Python
  • Java
  • MATLAB
  • C#.NET
  • Strong, applied experience with Agile development methodologies (Scrum a plus).
  • 5+ years systems analysis experience, including requirements gathering, functional design, and technical design.
  • Strong knowledge of all phases of software development or lifecycle for vendor supplied and non-vendor software.
  • Familiarity with operations of Unix and Windows operating system.
  • Working knowledge of modern internet browser technology, features, and functionality.
  • Proven experience with unit and systems testing.
  • Proficiency with PC based productivity tools, including Microsoft Office.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce documentation for:
  • Functional Requirements
  • Technical Requirements
  • System test plans
  • Operational System documentation
  • User Guides/documentation
  • Knowledge of database structures, data definitions and data relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage small to medium-sized IT projects and/or process improvement initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with and facilitate multidisciplinary work groups in an application development or support setting.
