Saint Basil Academy is the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese home for children in need. The academy provides a loving Christian environment where resident children are nurtured to adulthood.

St Basil's is looking for caring nurturing people to join our Residential Life team!

Job Description

• Oversee daily care of children ages 6-18
• Participate in daily meetings with Director of Residential Life regarding the progress and needs of each resident
• Coordinate and balance program schedules
• Organize and supervise off-campus programs and activities
• Distribute prescribed medications in accordance with children’s doctors
• Present weekly case conference reports to a team of ten staff members
• Collaborate to develop ICMP for each residential child
• Take residents to (and attend) necessary appointments
• Meet with teachers and administrators to best meet the academic needs of the children
• Lead weekly dorm meetings to maintain unity and cooperation
• Maintain a safe and controlled environment during crisis situations
• Facilitate life space interviews in accordance with the Therapeutic Crisis Intervention model
• Overall, provide a stable and healthy living space for all residents to thrive within

The daily routine includes, but is not limited to, transporting children to and from school, sports, appointments, etc., homework help, bedtime routines, and basic housekeeping. Applicant must be able to work well with a team of staff members while following the policies and procedures of Saint Basil Academy. 

Requirements

• College Degree
• At least 21 years of age
• NYS Driver’s License in good standing
• Capable of physical activity, active participation in recreation, and crisis intervention program of the agency
• Yearly trip to Ocean City, MD for 3-4 days in late August

Our youth often come from traumatic backgrounds and can be challenging to work with, so experience is beneficial but not a requirement.
