Job Description
The Payroll Clerk supports the payroll department in a clerical capacity, ensuring efficient and accurate payroll functions are executed correctly and within designated deadlines.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Bi-weekly preparation and review of associate personnel and time records which impact weekly processing for all payroll companies.
2. Work with the payroll team to process payroll on a weekly basis, which includes stuffing and mailing some payroll checks.
3. Respond to questions or associate issues regarding payroll, PTO/Vacation inquiries, stuffing and mailing checks, and filing.
4. Assist with reconciling vendor invoices for payroll services and benefit premiums and submitting for payment.
5. Create invoices to bill hotels and rental properties for payroll services, wages and benefits paid.
6. Maintain associate records in Sage including but not limited to new hires, terminations, benefits, and other changes.
7. Assist with payroll reporting requirements such as tax requirements, unemployment, garnishments, W-2, and other requirements as requested.
8. Assist with payroll administration to include changes in address, benefits, Federal and State withholdings and direct deposit enrollments/cancellations.
9. Respond to employment and other associate verification requests. Respond to special requests for reports as needed.
10. Manage the Payroll Department email inbox and distribute appropriately.
11. Other duties and tasks assigned including general office administration
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
1. Strong communication skills, written and verbal.
2. Computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Office and Sage payroll systems
3. Organization and prioritization skills.
4. Decision making skills.
5. Ability to plan and implement tasks from inception to completion in a quality and effective manner.
6. Basic math skills.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Prefer a minimum of two (2) years experience in payroll and invoicing or related experience.
Knowledge of Sage software preferred.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to pass a drug and background check.
Ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Records check.
